MODE Program Lunch: Revitalization of the King-Lincoln District

Thursday, July 22, 2010
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

King-Lincoln Gateway Building (across from the Lincoln Theater)

Parking is available in a lot on Garfield Avenue between Broad and Long Streets.

Join us in the King-Lincoln District to learn about the economic development strategies being implemented to revitalize this near east side neighborhood.

Speakers include, Boyce Safford, Director of Development, City of Columbus, Tony Hutchinson, a local developer, and Larry James, President, Lincoln Theater Association.

Plan to have lunch with MODE and then tour the recently renovated Lincoln Theater - a collaborative effort undertaken by the City of Columbus, Franklin County and CAPA - one of the keys to this rejuvenation. The tour will be lead by Todd Bemis, VP of Operations, CAPA.

Entry is free for MODE members and includes the lunch program. Guests are welcome to attend at a cost of $20 per person.

Educational Opportunities

Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) Certification Program


The National Development Council’s Economic Development Finance Professional (EDF) Certification Program is coming to Ohio. This four-course program is a rigorous and comprehensive training series designed solely for economic development practitioners. Participants learn the tools and techniques of the trade to build the capacity they need to successfully create jobs and translate economic development opportunities into results for their communities. Topics include business credit and real estate financing analysis, loan packaging, negotiating, problem solving, deal structuring and more.
