Columbus Economic Development: Workforce Development

The Columbus Region is home to 25 colleges and universities with a total enrollment of more than 115,000 students and 20,000 annual graduates. That’s nearly 1 million potential workforce contributors in the Columbus Region at a median age of 34.9 and harboring a Midwest work ethic; we're young, educated and dedicated. The Columbus Chamber helps to promote job training incentives and training providers that support economic development in the region through workforce development and support. Our productivity is characterized by low (15.3%) manufacturing unionization and high value-added ($175,108.00). With a great quality of life, competitive wage rates and growth of labor-shed that outpaces the nation, our workforce analysis shows that the Columbus Region is a great place to do business.
